Remuneration | £400 per day (pro rata) exclusive of VAT (Travel expenses from within Greater London can be claimed)

Newham is of increasing importance to London and the national economy: strategically placed to support the growth of housing and industrial capacity in the city and influence the economic and social evolution of the capital over the coming decades. This means an approach to planning, housing delivery and regeneration that ensures Newham’s growth as an environmentally and socially sustainable borough is achieved. 

Our Design Review Panel has a vital role, because every new development built and every place created has the potential to improve quality of life, contribute to the local economy and enhance the environment. Since we established the Design Review Panel in 2007 its members have diligently ensured that functional, sustainable and attractive buildings and places are delivered for Newham residents. 

We are seeking applications from leading built environment professionals and emerging talent, for Design Review Panel Members able to commit to approximately 5 full day meetings per year.  The areas of expertise that we are particularly looking for are listed below:

• landscape architecture

• urban design

• architecture

• environmental sustainability

• planning

• inclusive design

• civil and structural engineering

Successful candidates will have strong analytical skills, personal qualities of diplomacy and the ability to maintain a tone of constructive criticism.
